Accused in custody for over three years, Supreme Court grants bail

The SC on June 09, 2020 {Rajesh Nagorao Mohite vs State of Maharashtra} held that it is fit and proper that the appellant be enlarged on bail, subject to such terms
and conditions, as may be imposed by the trial Court.

It was further observed by the SC Bench, comprising of Justice D Y Chandrachud, Justice Hemant Gupta & Justice Ajay Rastogi, that the appellant has been implicated in offences under Sections 394, 395 and 363 of the Indian Penal Code 1860, the FIR was registered at Police Station APMC, Navi Mumbai, the charge sheet has already been filed, and the appellant has been in custody for over three years.

In above terms, the appeal stood disposed of by the SC.
