Supreme Court extends period to vacate premises by end of August, dismisses SLP

The SC on July 3, 2020 {PACHAN UNNI vs KAMMADAN HARIDASAN} held that the period to vacate the premises in question is extended up to 31.08.2020 provided an undertaking to the effect that the petitioner shall deliver vacant possession of the premises on or before 31.8.2020 and shall pay monthly charges for use and occupation of the premises is filed before the Court within 2 weeks.

It was however held by the SC Bench, comprising of Justice Hemant Gupta & Justice Aniruddha Bose, that it does not find any reason to interfere with the orders passed by the Courts below.

In the present case, the Eviction Order passed by the Kerala High Court was assailed before the SC by the petitioner.
